Hayao Miyazaki’s anti war animated film, “The Wind Rises” have been nominated for the 86th Academy Award more commonly known as The Oscars!
This would be the first time a Japanese film is nominated for the Best Animated Feature category of The Oscars since 2006, the 77th Academy Award. Then, the Japanese animated film nominated is “Howl’s Moving Castle”, another master piece by Hayao Mizayaki leading Studio Ghibli.
The Wind Rises is inspired by Jiro Horikoshi, the designer of the Japanese Warplane, the ZERO Fighter. The animated feature has already been featured in various renown movie and film festivals like the tiff and the 51st New York Film Festival, 2013.
