April Fools’ Day is a day that is usually known to most people as a day to prank and trick people, but for the Japanese, it is more of a game of one-upmanship. This round we’ll also be showing the jokes from not just Anime companies, but also others related to Japanese culture. Today I present to you part two of the April Fool’s “Pranks” from the Japanese Internet.
AKB84
This one is pretty elaborate . Seiyuus Ryohei Kimura, Kenji Akabane, Yuuki Ono, Toshiyuki Toyonaga, Marina Inoue and Yoshino Nanjou announced that they will be forming a new idol group dubbed “AKB84“. All the members are born in the year 1984, and is a play on the popular female idol group, AKB48.
Kuroko no Basuke
The main image of the webpage doesn’t feature guys playing basketball anymore, but rather birds, in the new anime called Hiyoko no Basuke.
Uta no Prince-sama
UtaPri‘s webpage features a playable otome game, thrusting the players and the characters of UtaPri back to Japan’s Medieval era.
Ace Attorney
Capcom announces the new game, Dog Ace Attorney, releasing on 1 April 2015 for the Watendo 1DOGS.
It even comes complete with a webpage promoting the product.
Dance with Devils
The creators of Dance with Devils changed their webpage today to Dance with Dogs, complete with a description of the new anime.
Cardfight!! Vanguard G
Cardfight!! Vanguard has collaborated with online web browser game, Touken Ranbu, to announce a new booster pack featuring characters from the Touken Ranbu universe.

Anime de Wakaru Shinryounaika
The creators of the anime are teaming up with Couples.jp, a couples hotel booking website, to release a new anime called Anime de Wakaru! Couples Hotel, aimed at explaining couples hotels.

To fans of the Street Fighter game, Daigo “The Beast” Umehara is a household name. However, all that is about to change as he now officially retires to become Ace Accountant.

Tokui Sora, announces a new app for both iOS and Android, called Shishido Sora. This app is a synthesizer application, and uses her voice, allowing people to make their own songs with her voice!
Girl Friend BETA
Girl Friend BETA, the Japanese smartphone game, will be getting a live-action adaptation. The announcement also added that 100 actresses would appear on film.
Google Japan
Google Japan this year released two different videos. The first one is Google Panda, a new state of the art “google machine” in a compact, and cute, form factor.
Also, Google introduces a “keyless keyboard” that is able to translate your input depending on how hard you blow into it.
Audi Japan
Audi Japan announces the new Audi R8, featuring new rice cooker technology.
Pony Canyon
Pony Canyon releases a trailer for a new Japanese comedy film titled “April Fools“.
Studio TRIGGER
Studio TRIGGER announces a new anime, Trigger Girls, for crowdfunding in July. The director is listed as Hiroyuki Imaishi, who is also the director of Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill.
Fate/Grand Order
The website for the Fate/Grand Order RPG changed today to feature a new game called Fate/GUDAGUDA Order.
Project Diva Arcade
The arcade game now features a new accessory in which you can put on your characters.
Working!!
Lastly, the Working!! anime announces the launch of a character raising game, wagnari untouchable!!, as part of its 10th anniversary, with 100 million ways to raise the characters. The game will be released on 2 April 2015 on the EnjoyStation Pita.
