Lindsey

Earlier this week, Youtube sensation and electro-pop dancing violinist, Lindsey Stirling released a video of her instrumental cover of one of the most recognisable tunes from Miku Hatsune‘s repertoire, Senbonzakura. Originally written and produced by well-known Vocaloid producer Kurosa-P, Senbonzakura has now been covered by almost every NicoNico utaite worth their salt, and a multitude of many other artistes. Despite the numerous comments asking for the artist to credit the original producer, the video has since exceeded 200,000 views.

Known for her imaginative and captivating music videos, Linsey continued in that vein with her latest release, bringing us a refreshing instrumental take on this iconic piece. The video sees her sporting a kimono with iconic Japanese scenes flash in the background fitting into the artistic theme of a Japanese painting, mirroring the original video.

Lindsey Stirling was first discovered on the American reality series, America’s Got Talent, and although she did not win the competition. She took to Youtube and became a household name overnight. She started out by covering musical pieces from various video games and and after a while began producing and writing pieces of her own.

She has since collaborated with some of Youtube’s biggest stars like Peter Hollens, Pentatonix and devinsupertramp.  To date, Lindsey has released two studio albums and is about to set of on a world tour to promote the release of her second album, Shatter Me. You can catch her in Singapore on 3rd March 2015 at the Marina Bay Sands.
