Just only a few weeks ago, the full line-up for the 10th I Love Anisong was announced, via live stream to almost 3000 eagerly awaiting fans.
In addition to these viewers who wanted to be the first to find out whether their favourite artistes would be gracing this mega-event, more thronged the official Facebook and Twitter accounts for Anime Festival Asia, as announcements for the line-up also went live immediately after the stream.
Who could blame them for their palpable excitement?
After all, I Love Anisong has grown into a renowned Anisong concert brand name, essentially setting the bar for the biggest concert experience for all anisong and anime fans outside of Japan. With even the prestigious Animelo’s overseas campaigns not even coming close.
It all started back in 2009.
The I Love Anisong brand was first introduced back in the 2009, as a concert branded platform of Anime Festival Asia (AFA) 2009. It is now not only a closing act for each festival day, but also one of the key highlights of the AFA experience we’ve come to know and love. It has since travelled even overseas to Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta, making it the longest surviving and most established Anisong concert brand in this region! For many fans in the region, I Love Anisong is their first anisong concert, and over time it has become one of the most anticipated annual events by anisong lovers.
DID YOU KNOW? Prior to I Love Anisong becoming an actual festival feature, anisong artistes Ichiro Mizuki and May’n performed at the inaugural Anime Festival Asia in 2008 on a small stage only 9 by 3 by 1.5 metres for festival attendees. However, the attendance was massive, which prompted organisers to expand and grow the concert element of AFA into what it is today.
It’s 2014 – and here we go again Singapore!
This December 5th, 6th, and 7th will be the tenth time that the I Love Anisong concert will be held, and rightfully back at it’s place of birth, Singapore. With over 24 performers, 13 artistes, 3 days and 9 hours worth of pure adrenaline, describing the tenth I Love Anisong concert as just “interesting” is an understatement for sure.

I Love Anisong has become an annual ritual for some Japanese Anime Music fans. It’s not limited only to Singaporean, but also fans in the region, with tour groups springing up just for Anime Festival Asia. I Love Anisong has helped to bring fans together to a concert experience that cannot be missed. In addition, unlike Japanese Mega concerts where up to 20 acts can be featured, I Love Anisong gives the spotlight to 3-4 artistes each night, ensuring that fans will have adequate time to enjoy their favourites.
