The anime adaptation of Yasuhiro Nightow’s (Trigun, Gungrave) manga series Kekkai Sensen (血界戦線, Blood Blockade Battlefront) will begin airing over Japanese channels MBS, TOKYO MX, and BS11 starting April 2015!

The KEKKAI SENSEN anime will be produced by studio Bones and directed by Rie Matsumoto (Heart Catch Precure!, Saint Seiya Omega). The cast includes Akira Ishida, Akio Otsuka, Ai Orikasa, Hikaru Midorikawa, and Mamoru Miyano.
Kekkai Sensen features the crime fighting organization Libra and their battles in Jerusalem’s Lot. Jerusalem’s Lot was created overnight in what used to be New York City, when a portal to another dimension dubbed “The Beyond” was opened.
The show’s opening theme “Hello,world!” will be sung by Japanese rock band BUMP OF CHICKEN — composed of Motoo Fujiwara (Vocals), Hiroaki Masukawa (Guitar), Yoshifumi Naoi (Bass), and Hideo Masu (Drums).

The band is best known by anime fans for doing the songs “Sailing Day” for the film “ONE PIECE: Dead End Adventure”, and “Tomodachi no Uta” for the DORAEMON film “Nobita and the New Steel Troops: Angel Wings”.
