Kiramune Music Festival, or KiraFes, is music label Kiramune’s (キラミューン) flagship event held annually showcasing their in-house artistes. Kiramune is a subsidary recording label set up under major label Lantis, known for launching singing careers for male seiyuus. The origin of its name came from the words “kira kira”, “community”, and “music”. The first artistes who debuted under this label, back in 2009, was CONNECT, a unit consisting of male seiyuus Kenichi Suzumura and Mitsuo Iwata.
The first KiraFes was held at Tokyo NHK hall, and ever since its inception, the music festival has been moving on to larger venues every subsequent year. This music festival usually lasts for a good a 6 hours, where their artistes take turns to perform about 6-8 of their own songs, and sometimes collaborating with each other in special units such as KAmiYU (Hiroshi Kamiya and Miyu Irino) as well.
This year, the 6th Kirafes will be once again held at Yokohama Arena, on two days, 9 May and 10 May. All their artistes will be participating in Kirafes this year, with the exception of CONNECT.
