The last time I was in Japan for a holiday, I was extremely impressed by it’s Bullet Train network, or as many would know as “Shinkansen”. With the rail pass, I was taking it almost once a day and extremely please that within half a day, I got from Tokyo to Kagoshima, a distance roughly equivalent to from Singapore to Bangkok, in relative comfort even.
Now coming this weekend in Singapore, the Shinkansen, High Speed Rail Exhibition will be coming to showcase their 50 years in an exhibition to be held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Center.

High Speed Rail Exhibition in Singapore – Sharing 50 years’ experience of
the “SHINKANSEN”
Next station, Singapore! Finally the Shinkansen is at your doorstep! Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) is holding a public exhibition titled High Speed Rail Exhibition in Singapore – Sharing 50 years’ experience of the “SHINKANSEN”. We are co-organising this event together with 5 other organisations* to show you that the shinkansen is a total experience that is more than just a high speed train.
There are fun-filled activities for visitors of all ages.
First-timers can experience the exhilaration of riding in a shinkansen train in our simulator and also by putting on the virtual head-mounted display. Travel buffs can check out the various scenic train tour packages in Japan at our tourism information counter. We also have origami folding classes in store for parents to enjoy family bonding with their little ones, while creating beautiful paper trains.
Train enthusiasts get to take part in quizzes to win memorabilia, watch miniature train models scoot around in action and can even purchase their favourite ones on-site. Don’t miss out on this fun-packed weekend with us!
