Ever though how great it would be if you can draw, then started acting on it, joining a club or taking lessons only to think,
How awesome would it be if I can learn from the many artists in the world?
Well now you can, with the World Manga Academy, a website which I discovered quite recently. The site is developed and promoted by Sailor, a company based in Singapore with a Japanese connection. The site steadily gains more attention, with it’s facebook page recently getting 80,000 likes.
With it’s lecture function that allows it’s members to read, request and create customised lecture on various topics about drawing manga from head to toe.
Currently the website has already accumulated over 60 lectures since it’s creation in late 2013, not counting those that dropped off. Promising quality on the lectures provided. Best if you can’t find the lectures on the topic you need, go ahead and request for it using the request function.
Personally, I have already gone through some of the simpler stuff, like how to draw an anime Eye or the proportions of a common character. And it’s really quite enlightening, just doing the reading. Especially for some of the high difficulty stuff, however with the teacher’s explanation it seem all so simple. Look for the lecture on creating an artwork titled Intel for example.
Long story short, World Manga Academy looks like, feels like and is most likely one of the self-service instructional site available for drawing illustrations. It’s free eitherway, so why not go try it out?
