When it comes to Makoto Shinkai works, your name. reigns at the top. However, it looks like Shinkai himself inserted a cameo from another one of his most beloved works, The Garden of Words. Specifically, Shinkai said that he inserted the film’s male lead, Takao, into your name.

Yukino also appears in the film itself, however, fans already know that. The bigger challenge was spotting Takao. But Shinkai did note that Takao only appears in a single cut, so if you blink, you might miss it. Shinkai noted that fans can see him right near the end, so happy hunting.
