Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to introduce to you Inori Aizawa, Microsoft’s new mascot for Internet Explorer.
Inori might now join the ranks of OS Tan!
Inori’s exclusive debut took place at Anime Festival Asia 13!
Inori appears clad in her Windows themed outfit with her Internet Explorer headbands. Quite the looker if I say so myself.
Those of you who attended Anime Festival Asia might have see Valerie from Asian Pop Culture Collective cosplay as her.
Inori took the time out to introduce herself at her Facebook page. Let’s listen to what she has to say shall we?
Hey everyone! My name is Inori and you can think of me as a personification of Internet Explorer.
When I was younger, I used to be a clumsy, slow and awkward girl.
However, just like the story of ugly duckling, people told me that I have really matured and changed over the years. I feel confident in my abilities now, and I’m eager to show you what I can do.
Why don’t you get to know me a little better?
If you would indeed like to know her better, make sure you drop by her Facebook Page.
You can download her here.
Users running Internet Explorer 11 may download the custom Inori themed browser while those running Internet Explorer 9 and above can set Inori as their homepage.

I now pass the pen over to fellow AFA Chan writer and friend Xingible.
Hello everybody! Xingible here.
Did not know quite what to expect at the Culture Japan Night on the 11 of November, I was surprised to see that Collateral Damage Studios was given a slot to talk about Project Aizawa Inori.
As mentioned above, Aizawa Inori is the new mascot for Internet Explorer, the name many are familiar with.
The attendees playfully gave some kind of jeering.
Honestly, the presentation was nothing impressive but a burning question goes to why would this group of passionate, talented folks so enthusiastically work for an unpopular brand?
Despite a fellow attendee trying to stop me for asking a “rude” question, I raised my hand and asked the presenter, KC Ng, what drives them to work on such a weak brand?
While looking out for flying objects coming my direction and battling the growing background noise, I heard KC saying that it is quite simple, all the other browsers has their share of marketing and now Internet Explorer just got to have hers.
More noise and the next I heard was, “Just like if you never eat Curry Chicken yourself, how do you know that it is bad?”
Cute.
I hung around after the presentation and was extremely lucky to caught KC with the help of my dear editor and asked him my question again. Do the team and he believe in the product or they believe that they can revive it?
Yes they believe in the product and again KC assured that Aizawa Inori has now come back stronger. As the conversation got more casual, KC’s eyes lit up as he shared with us that he is beginning to find fan arts and of Aizawa Inori and very impressively, there is even a piano cover of the animation theme!!

The fan arts go from pretty to whacky; Aizawa Inori is indeed attracting a diverse crowd!
And Jenny, a cosplayer from Germany!
In 1975, Bill Gates and Paul Allen had a mega vision; “a computer on every desktop and in every home” (Microsoft 2013). Back then, people wanted more to chill in their backyards, barbeque some meat and have a beer. Computers? You’ve got to be kidding.
Now that that Internet Explorer is on every Windows computer. I wonder what will Aizawa Inori brings.
*Note: Curry Chicken is a very delicious local dish which can look rather plain.
