WOW JAPAN by AFA CHANNEL, is an online entertainment show that features the latest pop culture trend in Japan by showcasing fun and exclusive entertainment content happening around the SEA region. Every episode, we will reveal some of the most interesting J-subjects in Singapore, focussing on Anime, Fashion, Culture, Music and Live Performances.
In this episode, we will bring you into the world of bento making! Kyaraben or charaben (キャラ弁 cute character bento), also known as Character Bento, is a style of elaborately-arranged bento (弁当 Japanese boxed lunch) which features food decorated to look like people, characters from popular media, animals, and plants. We are honored to invite Shirley from BENTO SINGAPORE to our studio to demonstrate how to make a kawaii Hello Kitty Bento.
Shirley is a Bento specialist and blogger whose goal is to share her love for bento making and kyarabens. She enjoys Japan cuisine and putting together a wholesome meal that is delightful to look at and delicious in taste, hence appealing to Japanese pop culture lovers.
